Judge orders DOT to restore $2B for Chicago transit work

A judge ruled that the DOT must restore $2 billion in federal funding that was withheld from the Chicago Transit Authority for rail expansion and modernization projects. The CTA had sued to recover the funds needed to move forward with planned transit infrastructure work.

The Chicago Transit Authority sued the DOT and FTA for withholding over $2 billion tied to rail expansion and modernization jobs.
